GUARDIAN AD LITEM
​
A Guardian Ad Litem (or GAL) is a court appointed legal representative of a child or children involved in a contested court proceeding. A GAL is appointed in any proceeding where child abuse or neglect is alleged, and can be appointed in any matter where custody, visitation, or support of a child is at issue. Ms. Edwards has proudly served numerous children in contested custody and child order of protection matters as their Guardian Ad Litem.

ABOUT KARMA EDWARDS
Karma Edwards earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.

Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Edwards worked as a criminal defense attorney in the City of St. Louis, and tried bench and jury trial cases in state court. Ms. Edwards has worked as an associate at a mid-sized St. Louis law firm, representing large corporate clients in complex litigation matters, including toxic torts and product liability. Karma is experienced in all stages of criminal and civil litigation, including motion practice, discovery, expert retention and development, and trial.

Karma is active in several local bar associations, and was a member of the 2015 Missouri Bar Leadership Academy cohort.
​
During her spare time, Karma enjoys spending time with her family, mentoring, volunteering, and serving on the boards of organizations that serve indigent and youth populations.
